Absinthe in France
Hey kids!
I went shopping here today: http://www.vertdabsinthe.com
Verte D'absinthe

I know it's been reported about here before, but I wanted to tell you from personal experience that it is a wonderful little store. The shopkeeper Luc (forgive me for spelling)is very friendly and very knowledgeable. I played a little coy with him to see if he really knew his stuff, and he passed with flying colors!
They have an interesting selection of absinthe, as well as fountains, glasses, spoons and memorabilia. The prices were very reasonable, and they even let you sample a bit of an absinthe before buying it if you are unsure if you might find the taste agreeable.

ABSINTHE MUSEUM
I also visited the absinthe museum in Auvers-sur-Oise recently. It is tended by Marie-Claude Delahaye, and has a nice collection of vintage and reproduction Absinthe propaganda. They also sell absinthe in the giftshop, as well as a few absinthe related trinkets. Here is the website (in French):

Les Furieux
We've been here a few times as well. It's in the Bastille area and they have a relatively large selection of absinthe's by the glass (any more than 2 is a "large selection" when it comes to most places in Paris serving absinthe"). It's an interesting bar that reminds me vaguely of the Whirling Dervish in New Orleans. The prices are alright for a glass (an average of about 5-6 euro). It's definately a late night hangout, and Friday night's it hard to find a place to sit. It's worth a visit (or two).

It's in Paris, in Le Marais. I added the link to the top of the page, as the image link seems to redirect you to microsoft instead (hmmm).
If you get off at the Saint Paul exit, its just about 4 blocks away I believe. There is more specific information on the website

Greetings..

thanks, for the post; kind of refrshing. That shop looks fab, really dig that fountain in the window. I had the same problem in as much as the site link didn't work so i couldnt find out the specifics, but oh well.
I would like to visit that shop, did they/he have any unusual absinthes (i.e Muse Verte,Un Emile 68s; Sapin/Gentiane etc) for sale? Uk - its usually when you can find it; Czech, czech and czech here.. with the rare occasional finding of la fée, and highly priced un emile 45/68.

adieu
Scar,

They carried the La Fee, Libertine (all 3 of them), Muse Verte, Versinthe, Francois Guy, Nouvelle-Orleans and (quite)a few more that I can't recall at the moment.
They had a few very nice fountains, and they were all much more reasonably priced then what I could get them for if I imported them when I was in the states.
They also had a pretty interesting selection of spoons and prints and whatnot.

Scar,
I've never seen that site before, but it looks like the same place! I fixed the link at the top, as it was a typo (I aded and extra "E").
But yes, they do have a good selection, and it's well worth it to support such a place!
If you decide to come to Paris and have a gander, let me know. We can orginize a field trip, as we will be here for another month, heh...
